This one day Re-certification program is designed for currently certified Intermediate (Standard) First Aiders to review their first aid practical skills. Western Canada Fire & First Aid is an Authorized Training Partner of SAGA Universal Training Corp. The Intermediate First Aid course follows the new CSA standards Z1210-17 and the “Alberta Plus” standards approved by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety (OHS). Includes Level C CPR & AED. In addition to completing all required skill and scenario testing, students must obtain a 70% score on a 50 question multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates will receive a certificate recognized by Alberta Labour & CSA that is valid for 3 years. Students who possess a valid (Alberta Government OH&S approved) and current (not expired) IFA certificate or IFA-Recertification certificate may attend the recertification course so long as they can successfully pass both the exam theory and practical skills portions prior to their expiry date. A student who is unsuccessful and whose certification has expired will need to complete Western Canada Fire & First Aid Inc.’s two-day Intermediate First Aid program if they require IFA certification.
