BLS (Basic Life Support) Renewal is a fast-paced course designed for experienced healthcare providers who are routinely called on to apply their resuscitation skills. Delivered entirely in the classroom, it covers single-rescuer and multi-rescuer basic life support skills for prehospital and in-facility environments, focusing on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
The BLS (Basic Life Support) Renewal course assumes comprehensive awareness, knowledge, and skill proficiency in Heart & Stroke BLS concepts. This fast-paced course is for students who are confident in their BLS skills, use their skills regularly, require limited practice and who already possess a valid Heart & Stroke BLS certificate to renew their credentials for another year.

Valid for: 1 year*
*Heart & Stroke recommends annual renewal of BLS skills. BLS Provider certifications issued prior to May 15, 2022, are valid for 2 years in Quebec.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Eligible for two (2) credits per hour under Section 2 of the MOC Program as “Traineeships”.
