This course is designed for individuals that work and or spend significant time in the wilderness environment or lead groups in a professional capacity.

Duration: 40 hours (50% of course taught in non-urban outdoor setting). Flexible scheduling options

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is also suitable for those who act as guides or supervisors for groups of people. The course covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

This course will also include an overnight excursion or night time hours to meet the requirements taught in the program.

Completion

100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on written exam

3-year certification in Advanced Wilderness & Remote First Aid, CPR Level C, and AED

Recertification

16–20 hours; includes CPR Level C

Delivery Options:

Option A:

The first is the traditional delivery where 50% of the course is taught in the classroom and 50% is in an outdoor setting.

Option B:

This option is delivered in an outdoor setting and includes overnight camping for two of the 4 days. You will attend the first evening session and complete some classroom requirements of the course. This will take about 3-4 hours. Then at the start of Day 2, all participants will meet at our location and commute to our over night location (Transportation Available). When we arrive the site will be assessed for shelter set up.(Tents are Welcome) The rest of the two days and evenings will cover multiple different activities and scenarios. At the end of day three we will return to the office and complete all required paper work and Examination.

– Students are responsible to pack their own camping equipment and food. We will provide basic stuff like pots and pans utensils etc.
